James Anastasi
James Anastasi has been in private practice since 1977 and has counseled individuals, couples, families, and companies in the Mason City area.
He has also presented many seminars on personal and interpersonal growth and development, therapy issues, and management techniques throughout Iowa in community colleges, companies, and organizations.
He received his BS degrees in psychology and education from the University of Iowa and his MS in community counseling from the Minnesota State University, Mankato. He taught psychology at Mason City High School for five years.
He is a licensed marriage and family therapist (LMFT) and a licensed mental health counselor (LMHC), a clinical member of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy, and the past president of the Iowa Association for Marriage and Family Therapy.

Alicia Tannahill
Alicia Tannahill is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in the state of Iowa. She received her Bachelor's Degree from Wartburg College in 2015 and her Master's Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Northern Iowa in 2018.
Alicia works with clients of all ages but takes a particular interest in working with children as young as age three. Alicia is trained in Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and in Play Therapy. She believes in meeting with her clients where they are at and working towards client goals collaboratively and non-judgmentally. Alicia has experience in working with depression, anxiety, trauma, relationships, and behavioral concerns.
Dorothy Bartleson
With over 16 years of experience in mental health counseling, I am dedicated to helping individuals navigate life’s challenges, including family and marriage dynamics, grief, anxiety, depression, and personality disorders. My approach is rooted in compassion and a deep commitment to guiding others toward personal growth and positive change. I strive to empower individuals to embrace their authentic selves and live fulfilling lives.


Jill Sherwood
Jill Kreimeyer is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) that is able to provide therapy based on the needs of the individuals. She provides a non-judgmental therapeutic environment that allows her to support the individual needs for others. She is comforting and accepting, as well as able to encourage new perspectives to challenge thoughts. Her clinical experience and treatment history includes: anxiety, depression, major life transitions, grief and loss, trauma, substance use, and dual diagnosis treatments.
Jill incorporates modalities to include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Person Centered Therapy, EMDR, Solution Focused Therapy, as well as Cognitive Restructuring. Her goal is to provide a safe and inviting environment to explore challenges and barriers each of her patients’ experience. She recognizes that emotional discomfort creates the feeling of being alone on an island and has the ability to encourage strength and determination to accomplish positive growth.
Jill was born and raised around the Mason City area and is able to connect with others and encourages acceptance to accepting support for mental health and emotional health, while challenging our own internal bias. She is only able to provides appointment times on select evenings and weekends.
Tonya Davis
Tonya Davis, TLMHC, is a Temporary Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the state of Iowa and is working toward full licensure as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC). She earned her bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from Oklahoma State University and completed her master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Liberty University in December 2024.
Tonya approaches the counseling relationship with empathy, authenticity, and compassion, believing in meeting clients where they are and working collaboratively toward meaningful goals. She works with clients ages 10 and older, grounding her work in a person-centered foundation while utilizing an eclectic, evidence-based approach to therapy. Tonya also recognizes that spirituality can be an important source of healing for some individuals and remains open to incorporating it into treatment when aligned with the client's values and preferences. She is committed to creating a safe, nonjudgmental, and supportive therapeutic environment.
Her clinical experience includes working with individuals navigating depression, anxiety, suicidality, ADHD, trauma, grief, major life transitions, and relationship concerns. Tonya values a holistic, client-centered approach and tailors treatment to each client's unique needs, strengths, and goals.


Amy Siefken
Amy Siefken has been employed at Anastasi Counseling Services since 2004 and is the office manager. She assists clients with scheduling appointments, files claims with insurance companies, and is in charge of billing.
